A Magyar Nemzeti Filmarchívum szakkönyvtárának állománya a jövőben rendszeresen bővül fotótörténeti szakkönyvekkel. A film felfedezésének századik évfordulója alkalmából sokakban tudatosodott, hogy a mozgókép története, megértése ma már elképzelhetetlen annak ismerete nélkül (az állófénykép), amelyből kinőtt, született. A mozgókép nem egyéb mint állókép+mozgás. Történeti, elméleti ismerete nélkülözhetetlenné teszi az utóbbi (kultúr)történeti és elméleti előzményeinek megismerését. Célunk, hogy kialakítsuk könyvtárunkban azt a fotótörténeti publikációs állományt, amely a leggazdagabb és Budapesten nyilvános könyvtárban hozzáférhető.
